Do You Feel Like Your Work Day Is Out of Control?
Things can get out of control when they are not monitored and maintained.
1. What is your role? This can be viewed as completely different by yourself and your employers. I reported to two people and their interpretation of my role was completely different. As a result, their expectations and treatment was also different. They had different ideas on the most beneficial use of my time which resulted in too many responsibilities.
2. Tactfully remove all tasks that do not and should not belong to you. We do not effectively operate, if we are overloaded with responsibilities. It makes it hard to plan your day when you are already set-up for failure due to an over extended schedule.
3. Focus and complete responsibilities before moving on to the next task. We do not effectively operate, if we are overloaded with responsibilities. It makes it hard to plan a successful day when you are already set-up for failure due to an over extended schedule.
4. Close out your day in peace. Leave the last 30 minutes of your day for you to put things away and decide what needs to be done tomorrow. When you walk in the next day, you walk into a space that is peaceful, clean and organized.
You will be ready to take on the day!
