What do you like to do for fun? Sometimes we wait to take the big trips or we think we need to spend a lot of money to enjoy life. We should do something every week that relaxes, uplifts, encourages us. It is okay to do something that is fun for you. It could be a solo activity or maybe joining a group that enjoys the same hobby.
Take a minute to write 5 things you enjoy, prioritize the list and then focus on the first one only.
Get whatever you need to pursue that activity and go for it. Do not stress about it. It is supposed to be fun!
If you are learning something new, you may feel uncomfortable at first but that is to be expected.
Reserve time each week, to spend time doing something you enjoy. If you have too many responsibilities to make time for you, I suggest you get a pen and paper. Write your responsibilities that are non-negotiables, the time takers that you are involved in but do not have to be.
Also include the things you do not want to do and the things you do not need to do. In some cases you might need to be involved but can reduce the amount of time you spend doing certain things.
Our first inclination is to give up healthy, soul restoring, peace giving fun/relaxing time to meet other demands. Stop.
Adjust other areas if at all possible and do not let anyone ridicule you because you want to incorporate some positive, fun things regularly into your week.
I am planning to learn how to make new items that I have never made before. Notebooks and bling tee-shirts just to name a few.
Let’s choose joy intentionally!
