Q1 – Do you have an organizational chart?
Q2 – When was the last time you reviewed it?
Q3 – Do the titles and roles still apply or have there been changes?
Q4 – Are the duties balanced for a reasonable workload? Is there a high risk of burnout in some roles. Roles that appear to be on the same level does not mean they carry the same amount of workload.
Q5 – Are you taking additional seasonal events and services responsibilities into consideration?
Do not base a reasonable workload expectation based on what you do. Your workload may need adjustment as well and everyone is not you.
You can do the initial review yourself and then with sensible leadership. Or do it with your leaders to begin with.
Set aside 1 hour to begin reviewing it and let your staff know you will be unavailable during that time.
People with agendas, irrational insecurities and a jealous mindset will not be a reliable review team. You can also check how other similar organizations are set-up. Even if you think your organizational set-up is good, check it annually. Get feedback.
