Life is demanding. Personal growth is demanding. The road to happiness can be demanding.

Everything carries it’s own demands.

If you avoid assessing what is blocking your enjoyment of life in your 50’s today, you will continue as you are and possibly experience more problems and unhappiness.

You will have the desire to fix everything at the same time to alleviate frustration and stress but organized and accurate is better than wrong and strong. Yes there are probably a lot more than 4, (my list is long), but lets start small.

Do not make any grand or angry announcements. Talk less. Quiet small adjustments can bring about eventual desired changes.

If you do this you will see noticeable results within three and a half weeks. Even if the only change you see at first is how you feel about a situation and your options.

Do not avoid it, handle it. The issues are not stronger than you! Your experiences to this point can be drawn on to move you in the direction you would like to go. Are you feeling overlooked? Before you look outward, look inward. Are you overlooking yourself?

I was not eating right and I felt very unmotivated. I had to create a simple plan (Walk before you run as my great-grandmother used to say!), to start eating more fruits and vegetables. The plan? Alternating eating fruits one day and making sure I had vegetables the next. Should my body get both every day? Sure! Was I there yet? Nope. Start where you stand and do not feel or let anyone make you feel bad about it.
