If you are looking for ways to handle stress at home or at work, there are many resources available to help. It is important to choose methods that you will actually do. Below are a few methods that help me.

  • Spend time with family and friends. Do and or talk about things you all enjoy.
  • Plan in advance for the next day. I sleep better knowing that I do not have to plan in the morning and this helps me not waste time the next day trying to decide what needs to be completed.
  • Prioritize tasks and projects. Do the most important things first. Reorganizing my bookshelf although a good idea is not as important as paying my bills. This helps to prevent you rushing frantically to complete tasks at the last minute.
  • Get enough sleep. If you want to make changes to how much sleep you get, make little changes. Stop working by a certain time each day. Shower a little earlier, do not allow family or friends to unload their drama on you especially after you go to relax for the evening.
  • Eat and drink healthier options. Start small to make changes. Buy fruits and vegetables you like and will eat. Food you do not like, will end up in the garbage. Make fruit juices in the blender. Pour some juice and then add fruit. Cranberry juice and peaches and similar combinations are easy options. A really healthy green juice of celery, spinach, apple and ginger is great but you just may not be there yet. No worries, improvements are good, big and small.
  • Exercise. Yes I know but equipment that is used holds up a lot better than equipment that just sits around. Find a method you like, without investing too much funds until you are sure it works for you. Dance or exercise at home. Take classes in a studio or gym are options. Start going for walks.

Stress is a silent enemy. It does affect your health and relationships. Enjoy the life you are living in the healthiest way you can.
