One of the things I have learned in my 50’s is that, I am not invisible.
Society may be geared to treat me as if I am, but I not. You may have some friends and family that treat you as if you are invisible, but it is far from the truth. When we are in our 50’s, hopefully by now we have learned not to do as many dumb stuff!
This is a time for us to take what we know, apply it and thrive! It is not a time for us to shrink back in disappointment, bitterness, self-condemnation, shame or fear.
Have we made mistakes? Absolutely. Should we minimize ourselves or allow others to do so because of those mistakes? Certainly not!
Now is the time for you to take what you have learned and improve your life. We are present and we have a voice. That voice is coming out of love, wisdom, hopefully kindness, understanding of healthy boundaries, purpose, appreciation of the value of time and the joy to be had each day.
Not only should we not be invisible, our life and how we live it should be a wonderful example of revitalization.
To have life, by its very nature is an opportunity. It does not matter what society says about this season of life, it is about what we do with it.
